Help with buying a holiday caravan
Buying a holiday caravan is probably one of the most exciting things a family can do.
The benefits are great including the ability to take lots of breaks at very short notice.
Now that you have decided to go ahead and purchase your holiday home, here are our TOP TIPS to help you....
Q. What should I look out for when buying a static holiday caravan?
* We recommend that you find out the following as basic precautions.
* Is the person selling the caravan the actual owner? This can usually be confirmed via the Holiday Park office.
* Has the Park granted permission for the holiday caravan to be sold on the Park?
* Will the caravan stay where it is and if not where will it be moved to?
* Does the price agreed include any commissions to the Holiday Park?
* Are there any extras over and above the price agreed?
* How long can the holiday caravan stay on the Park?
* Does the caravan have any outstanding finance and if so, how will it be settled?
* Is the holiday caravan for sale on a plot you are happy with and in an area that is appealing to you and your family?
* Have the caravan checked out by suitably qualified engineers - e.g. Corgi gas fitters and electricians.
* Is the Park a member of the British Holiday & Home Parks Association or National Caravan Council?
If so certain guidelines have to be followed.
